CSA Program - What is it?
By becoming a member of the Underwood Family Farms CSA program, you will receive a weekly shipment of seasonal fruits and vegetables, grown on our farm. The mix of what’s in the box will depend on the season and the selection could be governed by any farming challenges that we may encounter, by visiting In Your Box This Week you can get an idea of what past weeks have looked like. Our produce is all grown locally and will be harvested one day and delivered the next.
Our season runs year long and we offer three types of payment plans, monthly, quarterly and semi-annual. Quarterly and semi-annual members may attend a private tour of our farm. All active CSA members will receive free admission to the farm for the length of their membership. Members that are active during our Fall Harvest Festival are eligible for a 50% admission discount. All programs have access to the recipe blog and product community area on our website.
We offer two different size boxes to accommodate your household and eating habits. You can switch box sizes as long as you give us a week's notice.
What you get in your box each week also depends on the season. Here is a chart that roughly outlines the season for each of the crops we grow. Every year will be a little different, and sometimes we lose crops for a week or a month due to the weather.
Underwood Family Farms CSA members also receive periodic newsletters with updates from the farm and can access the members’ only area with information about recipes and special product and promotion information.
